Public invited to service honoring 10-year-old Bluffton boy killed in bicycle collision
A local church is organizing a public celebration of life this weekend for Adam Meissner, a 10-year-old boy from Bluffton who died in a collision with a truck while riding a bike in his neighborhood.
The event is planned for 2-4 p.m. Saturday at Oscar Frazier Park, located north of Old Town Bluffton. It will include a memorial service, bounce houses for children and free frozen treats from Kona Ice.
“All are welcome to attend as the community comes together to remember and celebrate Adam’s joyful spirit, bright smile, and the boundless love that Adam brought to everyone that knew him,” wrote event organizers from Venture Church in Ridgeland.
Adam died the afternoon of Feb. 1 shortly after his bicycle was struck by a Ram pickup truck in the Reserve at Woodbridge condo complex. He was a fourth grader at River Ridge Academy, described by loved ones as a funny, energetic child.
Organizers are looking for a local business or resident to donate Adam’s favorite snack and beverage, Takis chips and PRIME energy drinks, for Saturday’s event.
Donation inquiries and other questions can be sent to Angie Noye at angie@venturesc.org.
