Another shooting rang out Wednesday night at a notorious Beaufort apartment complex leaving one person dead from multiple gunshot wounds.

This is the fourth gun-related fatality in 19 months and the second one this year at the same location with two of the victims of these violent attacks being children including a 3-year-old and 6-year-old.

At approximately 10 p.m. Wednesday, Officers with the Beaufort Police Department were called to the complex at 325 Ambrose Run, near the Walmart and old T.J. Maxx building on Robert Smalls Parkway. At the scene, they found one victim with multiple gunshot wounds. Officers immediately began life-saving measures but the victim ultimately died from injuries, police department spokesperson Lori Reeves said.

The Beaufort County Coroner’s office will release the identity of the victim after the next of kin has been reached. At this time they aren’t sure if the family lives in the area or in Georgia, Coroner David Ott said.

By 3:25 a.m. the scene was secured. The police department believes this to be an isolated incident. Investigators say the shooting stemmed from a verbal altercation at a different, undisclosed location.
