Man charged with attempted murder accused of pulling knife on acquaintance, police say
A Ridgeland man was charged with attempted murder after police said he went after an acquaintance with a knife on Oct. 27.
Adrian Scott, 46, of Ridgeland, was charged with attempted murder and possession of a weapon in the commission of a violent crime, according to the Jasper County Detention Center jail log.
On Oct. 27, Hardeeville Police officers were called to an apartment complex off Argent Boulevard after an acquaintance of Scott’s called for help around 5:50 p.m., Hardeeville Police Department Chief Sam Woodward said. The two had an argument, and a man identified to police as Scott pulled out a knife and went after the acquaintance, Woodward said.
The acquaintance was transported to Tidewatch Emergency Center for treatment, Woodward said.
If convicted of the felony, Scott could face up to 30 years in prison, according to the S.C. Code of Laws. An attorney for Scott has not been identified.
As of Monday, Scott remained in custody at the Jasper County Detention Center. The investigation is ongoing, Woodward said.
