Beaufort County man charged after allegedly uploading child pornography, police say

A 36-year-old Shell Point man is facing charges Thursday after allegedly uploading child porn on his home computer, according to authorities.

Perry Scoon-Dillard, 36, faces three counts of sexual exploitation of a minor in the third degree, according to the Beaufort County Sheriff’s Office.

Deputies obtained an arrest warrant for Scoon-Dillard after getting a tip from the S.C. Attorney General’s Office of Internet Crimes Against Children, according to authorities.

A news release said officers searched the suspect’s residence and seized his electronic devices to turn over to the Attorney General’s office.

Scoon-Dillard is currently being held in the Beaufort County Detention Center and is awaiting a bond hearing, according to jail logs and court records.

This is the second arrest in the county involving child pornography charges in the last few weeks and comes after a former Beaufort County school bus driver was charged with similar offenses in a separate case.
