Beaufort All Stars win, head into Dixie Boys World Series finals
The Beaufort County All Star Team defeated the team from Monroe, La., 17-10, on Tuesday night to advance to the finals of the Dixie Boys World Series.
Beaufort County’s 14U team faces the winner of a game between Hattiesburg, Miss., and Springhill, Fla., in the championship Wednesday at Oscar Frazier Park in Bluffton. Games begin at 10 a.m.
Rain delayed the start of the Tuesday games more than two hours.
The double-elimination tournament that started Saturday featured 12 teams in each of the 13U and 14U age divisions.
In the 13U age division on Tuesday, the team from Jefferson Parish, La., defeated Nacogdoches, Texas, 10-7. West Seminole, Fla., was playing the Hattiesburg, Miss., team late Tuesday for a spot in the Dixie Junior Boys finals.
