Filing begins for special election to fill Port Royal Town Council seat

Filing is now open for the special election to fill the Port Royal Town Council seat of Vernon DeLoach, who died in February.

Candidates have until March 20 to file at Town Hall, 700 Paris Avenue. The filing fee is $100.

The special election will be held May 16. The new council member will fill DeLoach’s remaining term through the end of this year and would have to run again in November to keep the seat.
