Hilton Head renourishment project to start later this week
It is unlikely that the Town of Hilton Head will start its $20.7 million beach renourishment project today as scheduled.
The project is expected to start later this week, probably Thursday or Friday.
Scott Liggett, Hilton Head’s director of public projects, said Wednesday more time is needed to set up materials for the project. About 1,000 feet of beach will be restricted in front of the renourhishment site once the project starts. It will move about 300 feet each day.
