Bluffton’s newest venue, the red barn, is opening soon. Take a look inside
The newest addition to the Town of Bluffton’s New Riverside Barn Park has finally been completed. The red barn, an eye-catcher for people waiting to enter Bluffton’s traffic circle, has been expanded to become a space that can be used for private- and community-wide events.
The barn and its grounds coupled with the playground and walking trails may well become the town’s shining star.
The 37-acre parcel was purchased by the Town of Bluffton in 2018. It has since evolved into a park with meeting space, trails and an expansive playground. Today, the barn has 2,664 square-feet of event space, a 518 square-foot caterer’s kitchen, and can accommodate 120 guests with tables and chairs.
Lyndee Simoneaux, Bluffton’s director of events and venues, said as of Jan. 20 the town has confirmed 67 reservations for the year, with the first event scheduled for the end of February.
In addition to private rentals, the barn will host town events, including concerts, movie nights and as holiday events such as the Bunny Bonanza, the Independence Day 5K and a Christmas market. The barn will also serve as a polling location for Beaufort County voters.
The park around the barn is expanding, growing its trail system and adding a golf Frisbee course.
