Earlier this week, we shared a poll asking readers to vote for their favorite restaurant in the Lowcountry that serves she-crab soup.
We found 21 restaurants with a 4-star rating or above on Google reviews that have she-crab soup listed on their menus full time — not just as a soup of the day option.
Restaurants in our poll ranged from fancy waterside dining to relaxed seafood joints across all of Beaufort County, and over three days of voting from 326 participants, a reader-favorite location has been determined.
The votes were close, but here are the top three results:
No. 3: The Crazy Crab (available at both Jarvis Creek and Harbour Town locations)
No. 1: Sea Grass Grille
While our list included a wide range of dining locations across the Lowcountry, these three restaurants took the top spots from readers, with Sea Grass Grille ranking as the No. 1 restaurant for she-crab soup.
Sea Grass Grille has a 4.4 out of 5-star rating on Google reviews and is located at 807 William Hilton Parkway, Suite #1000, on Hilton Head Island, next to Palmetto Dunes.
Their she-crab soup has been served using the same recipe since 1977.
