RBC Heritage golf in Hilton Head through the eyes of young fans. What they’re saying
One of the most enjoyable aspects of the RBC Heritage tournament presented by Boeing is not only the golf itself, but the families that fill the stands and pathways.
Among the sea of tartan plaid wearing spectators of all ages, the bright faces of children visiting the green add a special spark.
RBC Heritage isn’t just for golf enthusiasts; it’s an event that captures the imagination and sportsmanship for visitors of all ages.
From their enthusiasm toward the sport to the sheer excitement of being at a major event, kids bring a unique energy to Harbour Town. Their energy and spirit toward the game often make the tournament an unforgettable experience for the whole family.
This year, we’re highlighting the joy and wonder they experience amidst the pros, plaid and sundresses.
Here’s how this year’s youngest spectators are taking on the tournament. Their children’s last names were withheld at their parents’ request.
Carter
Carter was visiting the tournament with his dad. Here’s how he understood the game of golf:
“I don’t really understand what golf is. I just want to be a baseball player,” Carter said.
DeSean & Michael
Brothers DeSean and Michael were visiting the tournament with their mom and keeping a close eye on the pros. Here’s how they were feeling about the first day of playing:
“It’s been a good experience so far to see all the different kinds of golfers and be here with the pros,” said older brother DeSean.
“I like playing putt-putt and going to TopGolf, so this is fun,” said little brother Michael.
Isabella
Isabella is a first-time visitor to the tournament with her parents. Here’s how she was feeling about the day:
“I like it so far, but my dad is teaching me everything and there’s a lot,” she said.
Riley & Carlena
Riley and Carlena are local high school students who are also first-time visitors to the tournament. Here’s how they felt about the day so far:
“I’m just here to be here,” Riley said.
“I really don’t know anything about golf,” Carlena said.
Cooper & Cameron
Siblings Cooper and Cameron are on spring break from school and traveled down from Virginia to watch the tournament. Here’s how big brother Cooper was taking on the day:
