Sip into spring with these new, fresh & seasonal beers on Hilton Head, SC
As the Lowcountry warms up and beach days beckon, it’s time to trade in those heavy stouts for something bright and breezy.
Luckily, Hilton Head Island is home to quite a few local breweries that are serving up fresh, spring-inspired sips to match the season.
From citrus ales to crisp lagers, there’s a pint (or flight) waiting to quench your thirst.
Here’s what’s on tap at some of Hilton Head’s beloved breweries to try this spring:
Lincoln & South Brewing Company
Lincoln & South Brewing Company is inspired by a mix of Vermont-style craft beer and the tranquility of Hilton Head Island. Their brews are intended to be creative and innovative.
Some of their spring brews include:
Splice of Life: 5.2% ABV; This fruited sour is meant to taste like summer with flavors including raspberry, tangerine and a tangy twist of lime. Perfect for a light beverage by the water or a backyard party.
Beach City Pilsner: 4.5% ABV; This brew is a light, approachable beer that is meant to satisfy any palate. With flavors of malted barley, this beverage is perfectly balanced by just the right touch of hops for a subtly crisp finish.
Kanpai Asian Rice Lager: 4.5% ABV; This light and refreshing lager is inspired by the elegance of Asian brewing techniques and flavors. The name itself translates to “cheers”, meaning that this new brew might be your new spring go-to.
Lincoln & South Brewing Co. is located at 138 Island Drive. They are open every day starting at noon, with varying closing times.
Hilton Head Brewing Company
A Lowcountry favorite is Hilton Head Brewing Company, with its local roots and almost 16 different beers on tap, there’s something for everyone.
Here are some of their seasonal and rotating beverage offerings:
By the Water Lager: ABV: 5.8%, IBU: 18; A crisp, light lager that’s perfect for the warmer weather. It has a bitter side but a dry and smooth finish.
Hazy Nectar: ABV: 6.9%, IBU: 23; This hazy IPA is packed with summer flavors of tropical fruits and stonefruit for a refresh.
Beach Bum: ABV: 5.8%, IBU: 18; This Belgian-style witbier is full of refreshing orange-citrus flavor to celebrate the warmer months
Coffee Blonde Ale: ABV: 4.8%, IBU: 16: This craft brew is made with fresh roasted local coffee, which balances out the sweetness of the beverage.
Elani: ABV: 6%, IBU: 38; This is a single-hop IPA that has notes of pineapple, mango, stone fruit and a hint of pear for a full summer fruit punch feel.
Hop Slap: ABV: 6.6%, IBU: 58; This double dry hop IPA is packed with full-bodied flavor for all beer lovers.
Another new brew, Folly Double IPA, is also set to hit the menu soon.
Hilton Head Brewing Company is located at 1 Cardinal Road and open daily from noon to 9 p.m.
Local Legend Brewing Company
One of Hilton Head’s newest breweries, Local Legend Brewing Company, is serving up nostalgia and a unique blend of brews.
Some of their seasonal offerings that are available now include:
Murky Waters Lager: 5.5% ABV, 21 IBU; This traditional rich, dark munich dunkel has a hint of chocolate and nuttiness that give this brew a dry finish with a unique richness.
Strawberry Rhubarb Sour Sour: 4.9% ABV, 8 IBU; This beer melds the sweetness and sourness of real strawberries and rhubarb with a brightly tart base.
These are some other new beverages that are on the way to the menu soon:
Beyond Time IPA: 6.6% ABV 49 IBU; This is an American-style IPA with a solid malt backbone with citrus, tropical and flowery notes.
Chili Wheat Wheat Beer: 4.7% ABV, 5 IBU; This wheat beer is infused with loads of fresh chili peppers and a kick of spiciness.
Storyteller DIPA IPA: 8.3% ABV, 66 IBU; This brew has herbal and citrus hop notes that help balance the bitterness and malty sweetness.
Local Legend Brewing Company is located at 1014 William Hilton Parkway and is open daily at 11:30 a.m. with varying closing times.
Side Hustle Brewing Company
Side Hustle Brewing Company is a can’t-miss spot. With two different locations, you can try their ever-changing menu at both locations.
Their Untappd Menu changes most frequently, with their seasonal options this spring including:
Cross Island Crypto: 4.6% ABV; This is your new beachside companion. With a twist of lime and tangerine, it’s refreshing and perfectly suited for a warm day.
South Island: 5.1% ABV; This New Zealand-style brew has a bright and zesty aroma with a crisp and clean taste. It balances both the malt sweetness and the subtle bitterness of the Motueka hops, so you can enjoy every sip.
Hustle Fizz: 6.0% ABV; This blue raspberry seltzer not only has a fun blue color but offers a refreshing, gluten-free burst of flavor that’s as bold as it is smooth.
Payola Pale Ale: 5.6% ABV; Payola Pale Ale is the tropical fruit flavor you’ve been searching for. This ale has a medley of barley, wheat and oat, that gives a fun, velvety flavor.
Blueberry Cobbler Payday: 5.8% ABV; This wheat beer is close to the liquid form of blueberry cobbler, encompassing all the yummy flavors of baked goods and sweet summer fruits.
Balance Transfer: 8.5% ABV; This New England-style double IPA has tropical fruit and citrus flavors in every sip, but with its high ABV, make sure to sip wisely.

Bean Counter: 9.0% ABV; This brew is crafted with locally roasted Hilton Head Coffee Roasters’ beans and has a smooth flavor full of oats, caramel and chocolate malts.
Side Hustle Brewing Company is located at The Bank, 59 Pope Avenue in Hilton Head. They are open daily starting at 11 a.m.
You can also visit their Bluffton Taproom at 10 Buck Island Road, Suite 200. They are open Tuesday to Friday starting at 3 p.m. and Saturday and Sunday starting at noon.
