Veterans Day event cancellations and changes in Beaufort County due to Tropical Storm Nicole
With anticipated inclement weather from Tropical Storm Nicole expected to impact Beaufort County on Thursday and Friday, rainy weather may be the cause of Veterans Day event cancellations and alterations.
The city of Beaufort has canceled the Veterans Day Parade, which was originally scheduled to take place on Friday beginning at 10 a.m. in Beaufort. On the city’s official Facebook page, the cancellation post was made Tuesday morning stating that the parade will not be rescheduled. The city did not state that the expected tropical storm was the cause of the cancellation, but had previously stated that the parade would be canceled if inclement weather was expected.
The Veterans Day Remembrance Ceremony on Hilton Head Island, originally scheduled to take place in the Shelter Cove Veterans Memorial Park, will now take place at St. Andrew by the Sea, located at 20 Pope Avenue on Hilton Head Island, from 10:30-11:30 a.m. due to the expected weather forecast.
The Dennis J. Becker Post 205 Veteran’s Day Parade, originally scheduled to take place in Old Town Bluffton on Friday from 10-11 a.m., has been canceled due to Tropical Storm Nicole.
UPDATE: The Veterans Day Lunch at the USCB-Bluffton campus in CC 105 has been canceled due to the school’s closure from Tropical Storm Nicole.
