You’ll pay extra to get into Hilton Head’s Sea Pines starting this week. What to know
If you’re heading to Sea Pines on Hilton Head Island’s south end, you’ll pay $1 more to get in starting Saturday morning.
The single-day visitors’ gate fee will increase to $9, according to Sea Pines Community Services Associates. The change will affect visitors year-round.
It’s the second boost to the gate fee in as many years. Prior to 2018, it cost visitors $6 to access the gated community, which is home to the island’s iconic Harbour Town and South Beach Marina.
Money generated from the gate fee increase will be used to fund projects in Sea Pines over the next several years. The newest extra $1 charge was part of a gate fee agreement negotiated between Sea Pines’ Community Services Associates, The Sea Pines Center and the Sea Pines Resort in 2018.
Eventually, the daily gate fee may be increased to $10, the agreement says.
The $10 entry charge for commercial vehicles has not changed.
