Need a free COVID-19 test before Christmas? This Hilton Head clinic will be open. When?

Need a free COVID-19 test before Christmas? You’re in luck. A weekly clinic on Hilton Head Island is going to operate until the end of the year.

The free testing site will run from 8:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. every Monday this month, excluding Dec. 27, according to the town government and S.C. Department of Health and Environmental Control.

The clinic is located at Fire Station 4 at 400 Squire Pope Road on the island’s north end.

No appointments or doctor’s referrals are needed.

The testing site had originally opened in mid-September. At the time, the town expected the weekly clinic to shut down by late November.

The clinic, though, is now going to remain open until the end of 2021, the town announced Sunday. Testing demand typically spikes before major holidays such as Christmas.
