Beaufort Memorial employees test negative for coronavirus, officials say

Four Beaufort Memorial Hospital employees, quarantined last week, have tested negative for coronavirus, Courtney McDermott, hospital spokesperson, said via email.

The employees, who worked at facilities outside the hospital, were placed in quarantine last week after contact with two people possibly exposed to COVID-19.

The hospital also operates express care clinics.

Hospital officials previously said they wouldn’t release information on positive coronavirus cases.

As of early Thursday afternoon, Beaufort County had six coronavirus cases, according to the S.C. Department of Health and Environmental Control.

One of the coronavirus patients lives in Sun City Hilton Head, an email from the community’s board of directors said Wednesday.
