What might the Bluffton Walmart Neighborhood Market look like?
A Walmart grocery store could open by the end of the year in Bluffton.
The world's largest retailer will open a Walmart Neighborhood Market at Bluffton Parkway and S.C. 170, according to a sign posted at the property. It will anchor a new shopping center.
Walmart's Neighborhood Markets are typically smaller than the discount retailer's other stores. They sell produce and meats, frozen foods and groceries, health and beauty products, and pet and cleaning supplies. Most have a drive-thru pharmacy.
The Bluffton version, Beaufort County's first, will be about 43,000 square feet, or about a quarter of the size of a typical supercenter.
Walmart has released photos that show a typical Neighborhood Market's produce sections, check-out lines and other portions of the store and produced a video tour of one of the grocery stores in Florida.
