Fahey: Taco Burger returns to Port Royal under new ownership
A fast-food restaurant that shuttered nearly five years ago in Port Royal has returned to the same address ... but under new ownership.
Taco Burger, at 1740 Ribaut Road, reopened last month, according to manager Juan Antonio Cruz.
"Everything is new, everything is different," he said.
The Mexican grill restaurant serves breakfast, lunch and dinner in a "Mexican-American style," Cruz said.
David's Crab House occupied the space in the time between the former Taco Burger and the new one.
Taco Burger's menu includes eggs, chilaquiles, enchiladas, burritos, panuchos, tacos, tostadas, flautas, chimichangas, quesadillas and sopes -- in addition to hot dogs, nachos and burgers.
While the menu is extensive, the restaurant is small and currently best set up to take food to-go or to eat outside. Cruz said he wants to add more outdoor seating in the future and will possibly reopen the drive-thru window installed in the building.
Taco Burger is open 8 a.m. to 9:30 p.m. every day.
