Fahey: Off Island Thrift location to close

The 20,000-square-foot store at 18 Plantation Park Drive in Bluffton will close Feb. 28, according to store manager Keila Alba-Anagel. The store is having a going-out-of-business sale, with all home furnishings 50 percent off and clothing $3 or less.

"The rent is way too high," Alba-Anagel said when asked why the store was closing.

The Off Island Thrift and Crazy Beach Boutique on Bluffton Parkway will remain open. That location includes three retail buildings totaling about 28,000 square feet.

Off Island Thrift sells gently used clothes, shoes, furniture, sporting goods, appliances and household items. The store's profits go to cancer patients in the community.
