Finally! Nectar Farm Kitchen opens in Old Town Bluffton. Here’s what you can expect

Nectar Farm Kitchen served its first customers Wednesday evening in the former Fat Patties location in Old Town Bluffton.

Fat Patties, a burger restaurant with the companion Salt Marsh Brewing, closed at the end of June. Since then, the roughly 4,300-square-foot building at 207 Bluffton Road has been renovated in a modern farmhouse style suitable to house the second location of Nectar Farm Kitchen.

Southeastern Entertainment Restaurant Group opened the first Nectar on Hilton Head’s south-end Office Park Road in February 2021. The restaurant was a partnership involving four respected local chefs: Brad Blake of Skull Creek Boathouse, Orchid Paulmeier of One Hot Mama’s, Chris Carge of Poseidon and Nick Unangst of SERG corporate.

The two Nectar restaurants source a majority of their meats and produce from 28 South Carolina and Georgia farms to create a menu described by SERG as a “twist on traditional Southern cuisine.”

The Bluffton Nectar features a full bar with high-top tables, booths and a retail space featuring Lowcountry goods. More seating has been added outside, and the parking lot includes designated golf cart parking.

The patio area includes an outdoor shipping container bar that is the hub for a line of in-house brewed beers overseen by SERG’s new brewer Stephen Streeter.

“We feel that Nectar’s core values of utilizing locally sourced and sustainable products perfectly align with what Old Town Bluffton is all about and feel that it is the perfect fit,” said SERG marketing director Ryan Larson, in a news release.

Nectar Farm Kitchen’s menu includes breakfast, lunch and supper.

The Bluffton location serves breakfast from 8 to 11 a.m., lunch and breakfast from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m., and supper from 4 to 10 p.m. seven days a week. The outdoor bar is open until midnight on Friday and Saturday.
