Popular restaurant near Sea Pines open only few more days. What’s taking its place?
Marley’s Island Grille on Hilton Head will be closing permanently on Saturday, according to a news release from SERG Restaurant Group.
The restaurant, located at 35 Office Park Road on the south end of the island near Sea Pines, has operated for 18 years.
Ryan Larson, spokesperson for SERG, said Marley’s Shrimp and Burger Shack located next door will remain open.
He said the space where Marley’s Island Grill currently is will be renovated and reopen as a different SERG property in early 2021.
“Marley’s will be turning into Giuseppi’s Park Plaza,” Larson said.
Giuseppi’s Pizza and Pasta House has two locations already. One is in the Plaza at Shelter Cove on Hilton Head, and the other is in Kittie’s Crossing near Target in Bluffton. In 2018, Only in Your State declared Giuseppi’s made South Carolinians’ favorite pizza.
In addition to the two Marley’s brands and Giuseppi’s, SERG Restaurant Group includes Wiseguys, Black Marlin, One Hot Mama’s, Frankie Bones, Poseidon, Skull Creek Boathouse, Skull Creek Dockside, Holy Tequila Mexican Kitchen, Charbar and Whiskey Room.
Larson said Marley’s staff is being trained to work at the new Giuseppi’s location.
Marley’s Island Grille’s menu is seafood-heavy but also includes steaks and chicken, all with tropical touches such as the Big Island Salmon with mango barbecue sauce, jerk-seasoned chicken and Sugar Cane Skewered Sea Scallops.
