This breakfast restaurant on Hilton Head’s north end appears to have abruptly closed

There were tables set with silverware and condiments Thursday morning at Another Broken Egg Cafe on Hilton Head Island, but no one was waiting in line to be seated.

There was no one in the restaurant at all.

The popular breakfast restaurant appears to have closed. Regulars reported arriving to locked doors starting Tuesday morning.

Located in the Sea Turtle Marketplace, the cafe is typically open from 7 a.m. to 3 p.m. for breakfast and lunch.

The restaurant, a franchise, has been removed from the national list of Another Broken Egg Cafe locations. Its Facebook page no longer appears to exist either.

No signs were posted on its doors indicating it has closed Thursday morning, although a piece of tape remained on the door where a sign may have been posted.

Those who work nearby had not heard why the business was closed.

Two calls to the franchise owners were not returned Thursday. Turan and Sheryll Strange also own the Pooler location of Another Broken Egg Cafe, according to their restaurant’s website.

Laura Nguyen, the manager of Sea Turtle Marketplace, said Friday she would not discuss the terms of the cafe’s lease and that her firm Wheeler Real Estate Investments, LLC has been in “ongoing discussions with the tenant.”
