Old Town Bluffton’s Farm is ready to reopen. Here’s why it was closed
FARM in Old Town Bluffton will reopen Feb. 13 after being closed for more than a week.
The restaurant’s first official day closed was Feb. 6 — it is not routinely open Sundays or Mondays.
“We are taking next week off to relax and rejuvenate a bit,” the restaurant said in a Facebook post. “Oh yeah ... we’re also headed up to the James Beard House in NYC to put on an amazing (and sold out) dinner with some Lowcountry chef friends.”
FARM’s Brandon Carter, along with several other Hilton Head Island area chefs and restaurant owners, was invited to host an event at the James Beard House on Feb. 7.
The James Beard Foundation annually awards what are commonly referred to as the “Pulitzer Prizes of culinary arts.”
FARM also said it planned to use the time closed to work on some “special projects” at the restaurant and at the farm.
The restaurant opened in 2016. It focuses on seasonal menus, using locally produced ingredients.
