This Hilton Head sports bar closed but you will see some favorite menu items again

Cheap Seats, a long-running and popular sports restaurant, closed on Hilton Head Island recently.

Rob Hummel said the plan was always to close Cheap Seats after the company’s newest restaurant — Club Seats — was established.

“We wanted to be bigger and nicer,” Hummel said. “We have the opportunity to grow and be more successful.”

Club Seats opened in September with a more grille vibe to the setting and menu. The menu has focused on gourmet grilled cheeses and melts.

Hummel said come of Cheap Seats favorite menu items, such as the wings, are already on Club Seats menu.

Other items including the pizza will be added next month.

Club Seats is at 2600 Main St. in the former “Bowling Center.” About 3,500 square feet of the center has been renovated for the restaurant.

Cheap Seats restaurant group opened Cheap Seats Tavern on Hilton Head in 2010. It was followed by Cheap Seats Tavern 2 in Bluffton in 2015 and Cheap Seats Riverwalk in Ridgeland in early 2017.
