A Hilton Head seafood restaurant will close this week after being pushed out of its place at the Atrium to make way for a SERG Restaurant Group event space.

DryDock Seafood & Spirits, located at 840 William Hilton Parkway, will close Saturday after 32 years in business.

The casual seafood joint served local faves such as she-crab soup, fish tacos and crab cakes alongside nautical-themed cocktails.

Owner Vickie Arbogast told The Island Packet she received a notice from MSK Commercial Services, which manages the property, on Dec. 23 with an order to vacate the space by Feb. 1.

The restaurant will not be relocating, Arbogast said. She added that her husband, who is 73 years old, has been in the food and beverage business for nearly five decades, and that it’s “time to go on.”

“It’s bittersweet,” Arbogast told The Island Packet. “We’re going to be missed by the community.”

The Atrium Building redevelopment

The Atrium Building, where the restaurant is located, is being redeveloped into an event space for SERG restaurant group. MSK Commercial Services manages the Atrium and other area properties.

Red Stripes Caribbean Cuisine & Lounge, located in the same building, closed on Jan. 17 after five years in business. Owners told The Island Packet they also received a notice to vacate on the same day, and are actively searching for a new location.

DryDock will remain open through the week for drinks only, according to Arbogast.
