Final results! Here are voters’ favorite coffee shops in Beaufort, Bluffton and HHI

Whether you’re fully leaning into pumpkin spice season or just want a traditional cup of hot coffee, you can’t go wrong with our readers’ picks for best coffee shops in the Beaufort-Port Royal area, the Bluffton area and on Hilton Head Island.

A little over a month ago, we asked for nominations of great coffee shops across Beaufort County and our readers didn’t hesitate, sending in more than 200 nominations. Among them were chains, local shops and roasters.

The top nominees then moved into three voting rounds, narrowing the field from eight businesses, then to four and then to two in each part of the county. It was obvious from the response that people are passionate supporters of their favorites, and we were happy to see the names of a few lesser known local businesses get some attention.

All along the way, we reminded voters that this poll was all in fun. The only prize was bragging rights. And our readers could click the refresh button and cast their ballots as many times as they liked over the course of voting, so no one should expect the results to be scientific.

On our final Hilton Head ballot, there were vote tabulation issues we weren’t able to resolve with the program we use. Because of this development, we couldn’t certify the final totals to our satisfaction, so we are listing both finalists among the county’s top coffee shops.

It was our intention to put the area winners on a ballot for a bonus round, but we’ve decided this will be the final coffee shop vote. (It won’t be our last poll series though!)
