Thousands of extras needed for HBO’s ‘Righteous Gemstones’ filming in Charleston. How to apply
HBO’s “The Righteous Gemstones” is about to start filming Season 3 in the Charleston area, and you could find your way onto the small screen as an extra.
Thousands of extras of all types and ages will be needed for filming from mid-June to mid-December, according to a news release from Tona B. Dahlquist Casting. Extras will be paid for their work.
The comedy-drama “The Righteous Gemstones” stars Danny McBride, John Goodman, Adam Devine, Edi Patterson and Cassidy Freeman as members of a dysfunctional family of televangelists.
Extras are not required to be vaccinated for COVID-19, but they will have to have a pre-filming COVID test provided by production.
Here are the upcoming roles needing to be filled:
- Hundreds of extras of all ages for large church scenes filming June 20-24.
- More than 100 high school students for filming July 5-6.
- Numerous high school band students with their own instruments who are available both of the above dates.
- Males with beards for possible reoccurring roles, including some with real-life firearms experience. (The news release says, “think ‘Duck Dynasty,’ hunters and good ole country boys with beards.”)
- Those who can portray protesters, rural church congregation members, mall shoppers and kids in a youth group.
In addition to people, the casting agents are also looking for vehicles from model years 1993-2000 for filming. Vehicles should be in good shape and running.
How to apply
Send an email to TRG3extras@gmail.com. The subject should be your age, ethnicity, gender and city/state where you live. Example: 45, Asian, Male, Charleston, SC.
Include two current photos, one close up and one full-length. Photos may be taken with a cell phone and should reflect your current hair length, hair color, facial hair status (males) and overall appearance.
In the body of the email, include your name, phone number, age, city/state where you live, height/weight, complete clothing sizes including shoes, description of any visible tattoos and piercings, and the color/make/model/year of the vehicle you drive.
