Famous slasher movie franchise ‘Halloween’ is filming in Savannah. You could be in it

It’s no secret the City of Savannah is filled with scary things. It has ghosts, haunted mansions, cemeteries, 20-person bachelorette parties.

And, for the next few weeks, movie producers have added their own sort of scary to this spook-filled town.

“Halloween Ends” has been filming in Savannah for the past week or so under the guise of “Cave Dweller,” according to multiple reports.

Michael Myers actor James Jude Courtney confirmed the suspicions in a recent Cameo video, saying he’ll be in Savannah to start filming his scenes in “Halloween Ends” in February. Other familiar actors will be on screen again, including Jamie Lee Curtis as Laurie Strode, Andi Matichak as Allyson Strode and Kyle Richards as Lindsey Wallace.

Filming in the city is scheduled to continue through at least March.

The Halloween slasher movie franchise consists of one dozen films, with the first one dating back to 1978 and the most recent (the sequel to the 2018 reboot “Halloween Kills”), which premiered in October. “Halloween Ends” is expected to show in theaters this October.

Although the last movie was filmed mostly in North Carolina, the first in the reboot was filmed over multiple months in Charleston.

The films mostly focus on antagonist Michael Myers, who killed a sister when he was a child and returns to stalk and kill people in the fictional town of Haddonfield, Illinois. The killings occur on Halloween.

The crew is still casting people as extras. In-person casting calls are scheduled in Savannah from 3 to 6 p.m. Wednesday at Halo Model & Talent Agency at 1319 Bull Street and 3:30 to 7 p.m. Friday at the Empowerment Center at 4704 Augusta Road. There’s also a casting call from 2 to 6 p.m. Sunday at Sugar Magnolia Bakery & Cafe at 106 Savannah Avenue in Statesboro.
