Natalie Hefter, vice president of programs at Coastal Discovery Museum, will present “Hilton Head in the Hunting Club Era” at 3 p.m. Sept. 19 at the museum, 70 Honey Horn Drive, Hilton Head Island.
The presentation will cover Hilton Head’s history between 1890 and 1949, when wealthy Northerners visited the island’s large hunting plantations. Hefter will talk about the people who owned property on the island then, their connections and interactions with island residents, and the influence that this land ownership pattern had on the future development of island.
Cost is $10 for nonmembers; $5 for members; and free for supporting and higher-level members. Reservations are required.
