A new event aiming to be the largest beer festival south of Charleston is coming up this weekend.
“Barrels & Bluegrass” craft beer festival is from noon to 5 p.m. Saturday May 28, on the grounds of Honey Horn Plantation, 70 Honey Horn Drive, Hilton Head Island.
Hosted by River Dog Brewing Company, the festival will feature beers from more than 50 craft breweries across the United States as well as bluegrass music from such bands as The Bushels, The Bluestone Ramblers and Hank, Pattie & The Current.
Area chefs also will provide delicacies to sample along with rare and exceptional beers.
