Lucas: Two Lowcountry-based artists releasing new music this week

Two Lowcountry artists are releasing new music this month.

First, Mahoganee Amiger, or just “Mahoganee” to fans, will release her first single at an event at 6:30 p.m. Saturday, at Salt Gallery, 802 Bay St., Beaufort.

The St. Helena Island resident has been working on her fourth studio album titled “Textures of a Soul.”

The event will include hors d’oeuvres and a live video shoot. Participants are asked to dress to impress.

Seating is limited and reservations are recommended. A donation of $20 is suggested.

Then, fans of rap and hip hop will want to check out Lo’ Kuntry, a.k.a. Tyler Brown’s latest album “Control.”

The artist who calls the Beaufort County area home and records out of Port Royal Sound Studios, will release the album Wednesday.
