Lucas: USC Beaufort’s ‘Godspell’ opens this weekend
With spring just a week away, now is the perfect time to get out and take in a show, see a concert or attend a new exhibit.
Don’t forget, “Godspell” opens this weekend at the University of South Carolina Beaufort Center for the Arts.
The Beaufort Theatre Company’s latest production was written by Grammy and Academy-Award winning composer Stephen Schwartz who went on to write mega hits “Wicked” and “Pippin.”
The musical is structured around the parables of the Gospel of Matthew and features an eclectic blend of songs ranging from pop to Vaudeville.
The center introduced the production earlier in February with a lecture series.
Showtimes are 7:30 p.m. Saturday, March 18 and March 19 and 3 p.m. Sunday, and March 20.
Tickets are $25 with discounts for seniors and students.
For tickets call 843-521-4145 or visit www.uscbcenterforthearts.com.
