Lucas: The Kris Tokarski Trio to play The Jazz Corner
Jazz fans, especially those looking for that authentic New Orleans sound, won't want to miss The Kris Tokarski Trio at The Jazz Corner this weekend.
Featuring Kris Tokarski, Andy Schumm and Hal Smith, the trio will play from 8-11 p.m. Jan. 15 and Jan. 16 at the club at 1000 William Hilton Parkway (in the Village at Wexford), Hilton Head.
Tokarski is an in-demand jazz pianist in New Orleans where he also teaches at the University of New Orleans.
Professional musician Andy Schumm plays 1920s-styled cornet but also plays piano, trombone, bass sax, clarinet, banjo, baritone and drums.
Hal Smith has served as drummer in a number of bands including many of his own. "Chicago Style Jazz" is his favorite type of music, but he also enjoys "New Orleans," "New York," and "Kansas City" styles.
Doors open at 6 p.m.
The cost of the show is $15.
