From dazzling orchestral sounds bound to spark your imagination to a community sing designed to honor civil rights leader Martin Luther King Jr., the Lowcountry is packed with music and even a little comedy this week.

Hilton Head Symphony Orchestra back with "Berlioz Symphonie Fantastique"

The Hilton Head Symphony Orchestra continues its 34th season "Passion and Music in the Lowcountry" beginning this weekend with a dazzling symphony of grand proportions.

"Berlioz Symphonie Fantastique" will feature the music of Rachmaninoff, Berlioz and Canadian composer Brent Lee, who was inspired by Gregorian chants for his work "Dies irae chant."

Also, Elliot Wuu, the amazing first prize winner of the 2015 Hilton Head International Piano Competition, will perform Rachmaninoff's "Rhapsody on a Theme of Paganini."

Wuu has won numerous state, national and international competitions and has performed around the globe.

The concert is 4 p.m. Jan. 17 and 8 p.m. Jan. 18 at First Presbyterian Church, 540 William Hilton Parkway, Hilton Head Island.

Tickets range from $30-$55 and discounts are available for children with an accompanying parent on Sunday.
