Letter: New Boundary Street will make Beaufort better

Beaufort is a great town and there are many publications that continue to verify that opinion. The planning and execution of the Boundary Street project will continue to make Beaufort better.

This new approach to historic Beaufort will ensure that this pathway will not deteriorate the way U.S. 17 has near Charleston.

Boundary Street should not serve as a shortcut to the new Walmart and all things beyond. Drivers who have business to do along this corridor will be thrilled at the look and flow of the new configuration.

Those who are using this route as a highway to the islands, if inconvenienced, should use the intended primary roads through Parris Island Gateway and across the McTeer Bridge. This has been the well-advertised and expertly engineered plan for nearly 10 years and should come as a surprise to no one.
