Police identify motorcyclist killed in Port Royal wreck Thursday

A Marine stationed in Beaufort died Thursday night after a crash with a Jeep while riding his motorcycle in Port Royal, according to the Beaufort County Coroner's Office.

Giovanni Brown, 23, was stationed at Marine Corps Air Station Beaufort, according to the Coroner's Office.

He was riding a motorcycle on Savannah Highway around 9 p.m. when a Jeep turned left in front of him toward a BP gas station, Port Royal Police Department spokesman Lt. Andre Massey said.

The Jeep's driver was cited for failing to yield the right of way, Massey said.
