Christmas Eve homicide in Beaufort under investigation
A 38-year-old man was shot and killed on Christmas Eve in the third homicide to hit Beaufort's Greene Street this year.
Beaufort Police were called to the 1400 block about 9:15 p.m., where they found the victim dead of an apparent gunshot wound, according to a news release.
Officers interviewed several witnesses in the area and are following up on any leads, the news release said.
Earlier this year, two other men were slain on Greene Street near the Charles Lind Brown Activity Center -- Detuan Jenkins, 19, of St. Helena Island on Feb. 9 and Matthew Horne, 20, of Dale, on April 30.
A fourth man, Nicholas Degros, was slain in the city in January in connection with a domestic dispute.
Arrests have been made in each case.
