Hilton Head family displaced by fire

Two adults are being assisted by the American Red Cross after a fire damaged their Gumtree Road home on Hilton Head Island on Monday evening.

The blaze was put out by Hilton Head Island Fire & Rescue Division, A Red Cross news releaser said.

The couple was provided with financial assistance, temporary lodging, food and clothing and hygiene products by the Red Cross, according to the news release.
