Jenny Horne to face Mark Sanford in Beaufort Congressional debate

State Rep. Jenny Horne will face U.S. Rep. Mark Sanford in a televised 1st Congressional District debate in Beaufort in June, a news release from Horne’s campaign said.

The debate will be televised on S.C. ETV at 7 p.m. June 6. Charles Bierbauer, dean of the University of South Carolina journalism school and former longtime correspondent for CNN and ABC News, will serve as moderator.

South Carolina’s Congressional primary is June 14.

Horne is a Republican representing Charleston and Dorchester counties in S.C. House District 94. She made national headlines last June for a tearful speech calling for the removal of the Confederate flag from the Statehouse grounds.
