Officials to take questions on Boundary Street project
Beaufort County and city of Beaufort officials have planned an informal open house for residents to learn about an improvement project underway on Boundary Street.
Officials will be available to answer questions from 4 to 6 p.m. on March 31 at City Hall, 1911 Boundary St.
The 1.2 mile improvement project on Boundary Street began in January. Recent work includes removing the center median and shifting lanes to allow workers to begin creating an underground space for utility cables.
Boundary St. will remain a four-lane roadway but will have improved intersections with traffic signals, left-turn lanes, a landscaped middle median and sidewalks and pathways for pedestrians.
The project runs from Neil Road to Greenlawn Drive and will be completed in phases, starting at the intersection of Boundary Street and Robert Smalls Parkway. Moving utility lines underground will extend to Ribaut Road.
