Cut fiber caused Hargray outage for some Beaufort customers

A cut fiber caused an outage for Beaufort Hargray customers Tuesday morning.

Service had been restored by about 1:15 p.m. to the potentially several thousand customers affected, Hargray spokesman Robert Gilbert said.

The fiber was cut by an unaffiliated third party. The outage lasted for about five hours.
