Coastal Carolina Hospital taps Talbert as new CEO
Coastal Carolina Hospital has named Brad S. Talbert its new chief executive officer.
Talbert, who will start Aug. 6, will replace Bill Masterton, who left the 41-bed hospital in Hardeeville in late June to become chief executive officer of the Piedmont Medical Center in Rock Hill.
Talbert, 34, was market vice president of business development and then chief operating officer of Hilton Head Hospital. Both hospitals are owned by Texas-based Tenet Healthcare Corp.
"Brad is a well-rounded health care executive with a proven track record of commendable results," said John Holland, senior vice president of operations for Tenet's Southern States region.
Before working in Beaufort County, Talbert was CEO at Kindred Hospital in Charleston and Select Specialty Hospital in Memphis.
Mark O'Neil, president of Hilton Head Regional Health Care, and Coastal Carolina's 12-member board of governors recommended Talbert, according to hospital spokeswoman Carolyn Grant.
Talbert earned a bachelor's degree in finance from Wofford College in Spartanburg and a master's degree in health administration from the Medical University of South Carolina.
He is a fellow of the American College of Healthcare Executives.
