Beaufort woman reports sexual assault

A 29-year-old Beaufort woman says she was raped and repeatedly assaulted by a male acquaintance, whom she drove around the region with Saturday while drinking and using drugs, according to the Beaufort County Sheriff's Office.

Brian David Walls, 30, of Beaufort faces two charges of criminal sexual conduct, kidnapping and marijuana possession. He was being held Monday on $50,775 bond at the county detention center.

The woman picked up Walls on Saturday from a home on Trask Parkway, and they used drugs and alcohol while they drove around, Sheriff's Office spokeswoman Sgt. Robin McIntosh said. Walls was using Adderall, cocaine and alcohol, according to a Sheriff's Office report.

On two occasions, she told officers, Walls stopped the car and raped and assaulted her. The woman persuaded Walls to let her drive home, where she called police at about 2:30 a.m. Walls was at the residence when officers arrived, and they took him into custody.
