‘Partying’ goes wrong as shots ring out, wounding two at Ridgeland home

A 41-year-old man and 16-year-old boy are recovering from multiple gunshot wounds after allegedly exchanging gunfire while “partying” at a Ridgeland home on Saturday.

The shooting was reported around 11:35 p.m. at a residence in the 4100 block of Bees Creek Road, according to a Jasper County Sheriff’s Office news release.

Deeputies found the two suffering from multiple gunshot wounds and discovered that one of the victims was a 16-year-old and the other was identified as Caston Brown, of Jasper County.

After interviewing witnesses, investigators determined that the two were inside the residence “partying” when they began to argue. One of the males pulled out a pistol and started shooting. The second also had a weapon and returned fire.

The victims were flown to Memorial University Medical Center in Savannah where they are listed in serious but stable condition.

The investigation is ongoing and no information about possible charges has been released.
