Driver heard a ‘pop’ before his truck caught fire along US 21 in Burton

A vehicle fire at a business on U.S. 21 in Burton temporarily shut down two southbound lanes Wednesday afternoon, according to a Burton Fire District news release.

A truck caught fire at Daisy Coin Laundry on Trask Parkway shortly before 4 p.m., according to the release. Flames were coming from the engine area and the cab of the truck when firefighters arrived.

The driver told fire officials that he heard a “pop” just before the fire and recently had some work done to the vehicle, according to the release. The driver was not injured.

Both southbound lanes of Trask Parkway were blocked for about 45 minutes.
