Brooklyn man faces two felony charges after Beaufort Walmart shopping trip
A 26-year-old Brooklyn, New York, man faces two felony charges after allegedly using counterfeit travelers checks to purchase about $2,360 worth of items at Walmart on Robert Smalls Parkway in Beaufort, according to Beaufort Police Department spokeswoman Sgt. Hope Able.
James Chambers is charged with forgery and obtaining a signature or property by false pretenses. He was arrested Friday and released Saturday on $7,125 bond, according to Beaufort County Detention Center online records and online court records.
