The Gullah Geechee will host a Seafood Festival and Famlee Day from 12 p.m. to 6 p.m. Oct. 22 at the Dr. Martin Luther King Park on St. Helena Island.

The Gullah Geechee Fishing Association, the St. Helena Community Market, All Mobile Productions and the Gullah Geechee Sea Island Coalition will co-host the free festival, which includes music, cultural presentations and food.

Volunteers can sign up to help seniors clear with their yards and homes or deliver food in the aftermath of Hurricane Matthew.

Items and meals will be for sale at a craft and vendor market to help the economic sustainability of the Gullah Geechee community.
