Traffic delayed on I-95 after tractor trailer catches fire and shuts down lanes

An 18-wheel trailer truck caught fire near the Hardeeville exit of I-95 Wednesday morning, closing the northbound lanes for a time, according to police.

No one was injured in the fire, and lanes have just reopened, according to S.C. Highway Patrol Lance Cpl. Matt Southern. However, he said traffic has slowed significantly because of the closure.

Southern said S.C. Highway Patrol responded to the call at 11:38 a.m. and were able to reopen northbound lanes an hour later.

Hardeeville Fire Departmen put out the fire. Information from those firefighters was not available.
