The Hilton Head Island Planning Commission got an update this morning on renovations to the Pineland Station shops.

Developers have said they plan to tear down and rebuild the aging Pineland Station on the north end of Hilton Head Island. Plans call for about 140,000 square feet of commercial space, including a new anchor retailer, a smaller box store, about 23 shops and a gas station.

Plans for renovating the Steinmart are being looked at by the town's Design Review Board, according to town community development director Shawn Colin. Further plans are in the early development stages.
