Haig Point couple featured on HGTV’s ‘Island Life’ Sunday
Melissa and Opie Lehmberg ditched the Atlanta city life for Haig Point on Daufuskie Island, and now the couple and their two children will be featured on HGTV’s “Island Life.”
The Lehmbergs fell in love with Daufuskie during a road trip and knew it was the perfect place to put down their family's roots, according to a press release from the Haig Point Club and Community Association. The couple moved to Haig Point in 2014, and on “Island Life” they continue this exciting chapter in their lives, living alongside nature and enjoying all the outdoor activities Daufuskie Island has to offer.
Haig Point resident Norma Jenkins contacted HGTV about the Lehmbergs early this year, and filming completed in April.
“Island Life” toured all of Daufuskie, including local landmarks like Marshside Mama’s and the Iron Fish Gallery.
The Lehmbergs count themselves among the “Daufuskie 100” that stayed during Hurricane Matthew, and have played a big part in the clean-up process, the release said.
When to watch: The Lehmbergs will appear on “Island Life” at 8:30 p.m. Sunday, November 6.
