New assisted-living community coming to Bluffton

NHC Bluffton, a skilled-nursing facility, plans to open a new assisted-living community in early September on 3035 Okatie Highway.

Palmettos of Bluffton will have 55 assisted-living apartments and 20 memory care apartments. Assisted-living apartments will be between 345 and 517 square feet and will cost between $3,850 and $4,300 a month. Memory care apartments will be available at $4,375 a month for 275 square feet, and $5,250 a month for 330 square feet.

Amenities at Palmettos of Bluffton will include a bistro, library, gym, putting green and other activities to “keep the seniors as active as possible,” according to Anna Makar, Palmettos of Bluffton’s director of marketing.
